Thank you so much for visiting my page! Choosing a lash artist can be a nerve-wracking experience; everyone has heard horror stories about lash extensions gone wrong; so let me introduce myself.

My name is Tracy Dafoe. I was born in Calgary, and have lived here my entire life. I have been a single parent for 22 years, working in the corporate world as an administrative assistant in various industries, including oil and gas engineering, civil engineering, accounting, and health care. I earned my Office Administration Certificate with an Accounting specialty from Bow Valley College in 2002, and am currently employed full time at an engineering firm in the transportation division. When my son turned 18, I decided to start looking for something I could do from home. I wanted more financial and time flexibility, now that he wasno longer quite so dependent on me to be around for him at all times. 

I got into eyelash extensions almost by accident; a friend of mine got her lashes done, and I was looking for a place to get mine done when I came across an ad for an eyelash extension course, and it spoke to me in a way nothing else had. I had considered doing admin work from home - after all, that’s what I’ve been getting paid to do for 20 years - but it just didn’t excite me. I signed up for my course the following day, after looking into multiple courses in Calgary. It happened that the course was the following weekend, so everything happened very quickly!

It took me about a month to get the business side of things set up, between licensing, insurance, installing a sink in my lashing room, and city and Alberta Health Services inspections. In the meantime, I practiced on friends and family, and in October 2018, I took my first paying client! I was very lucky, and two of my first three clients became regulars!

I find doing eyelash extensions very rewarding - I LOVE the moment when I hand a client the mirror when her lashes are done and she loves them! “Wow!” is the reaction I’m going for, whether it’s your first visit or your 20th. My goal is always to give you the look that YOU want, whether it’s lots of length and drama, or just a subtle boost so you don’t have to wear mascara (because no one really likes mascara)!
